We opened our latest show in Cortland, New York. Here are some images and a conversation between the curators.
Last week, our latest show opened in Cortland, New York. "Altered Logistics: Collage and Appropriation Art" was curated by D. Dominick Lombardi and our own Max-o-matic. After months of hard work and many challenges, we are super excited about the variety of artists, techniques, and different approaches to making art with collage in this exhibition.
Both curators had an email conversation to talk about the experience of curating the show and other cool stuff wanted to learn from each other.
Max-o-matic: “my approach to curating a show (…) involves probing the boundaries of collage as an art form. I aim to expand those limits by incorporating adjacent practices that inject new elements into the sometimes rigid, classic notion of collage.”
D.Dominick Lombardi: “My general approach to curating is organic. I look at the theme and parameters as you do, and try to cover as many possible interpretations as possible so the exhibition will have something for everyone to connect to.”
Altered Logistics: Contemporary Collage and Appropriation Art will be at The Dowd Gallery, SUNY Cortland from October 30 – December 8, 2023.Dowd Fine Arts Center,
