These past few weeks have been quite eventful on the TWS website. And here we are again, as we are every two weeks, to share it with you.
An intro to...
Often, we receive emails from artists with a small selection of their works, and it leaves us wanting more information to put their art into context. Other times, we come across Instagram posts through our #theweirdshowism hashtag, and we feel compelled to delve deeper into the artist's world. And sometimes, by chance or through recommendations, we stumble upon new artists whom we were previously unaware of. In order to learn more about all of them, we have launched a new section that we have named "An Intro to." Here, we will feature artists whom we have recently discovered (even if they have been working for a long time) and whom we want to learn a bit more about and explore their work.
Ceramics, paper, collage.
We have kicked off this section with Tom Buchanan, a London-based artist who skillfully turns discarded ceramics into captivating narratives. Collage and ceramics are something we deeply appreciate, and we have already explored them through the works of artists like Patrick Bergsma and Trevor Braid, we reached out to Tom with a few questions to learn more about him and his artistic practice.

Another artist we wanted to learn more about is someone who has been on our radar for some time but whom we hadn't interviewed yet, Brazilian artist based in Australia, Danilo Brandão. Danilo's work combines elements of traditional collage with the incorporation of digital elements. His aesthetic moves between a classical heritage and a distinctly contemporary perspective. Brandão's work greatly interests us, and that's why we wanted to delve deeper into his artistry.

Inspiration
As we mentioned before, Instagram doesn't work well for us when it comes to sharing content. That's why another change we've made is creating a special section for our Monday Inspiration on our website. So when you're in need of inspiration, stop by TWS and dive into our inspiration section (or the rest of the site), where you'll find an incredible variety of artists who play with the concept of collage and take it to new territories.
This week, our curator of inspirations, Cless, brought us the work of Julien Boudet (OMG!) where sculpture, motorcycles, sharks, and collage come together in an incredible way!
Weekly Inspiration: Julien Boudet
We also have the work of J. Sasso, who creates sculptures from machine parts, crafting perfect devices that seem to come from a future past. It's pure magic where collage, engineering, and madness converge into seamless aesthetic and constructive artworks.
Weekly Inspiration: J.Sasso
Lastly, Cless shared with us the work of Brooke DiDonato, who combines performance and photography to create poetic compositions full of meaning that challenge our everyday existence. It's pure magic.

Books:
Another one of our weekly sections is the Friday Bookshelf, where we showcase books related to collage that we love and have on our shelves (well, mostly on Cless's shelves).
This week, we shared a title by Swoon, another by Lee Friedlander about Mannequins and another one by our beloved Dennis Busch.

Any thoughts?
I think these past two weeks have been very active.
What do you think? What are you eager to see? Whom would you like us to interview?Share your ideas with us; we would love to read them.
Warm regards from Barcelona,
Max
